Who we are

Scarborough’s Got Jokes is a community-driven comedy platform producing live stand-up shows, open mics, and special events across Scarborough. Operating under the Scarborough Spots platform, we’re focused on supporting local artists, collaborating with local businesses, and creating spaces where people can come together for a great night of laughter.

Our programming celebrates diverse voices and reflects the humour, culture, and lived experiences of Scarborough. From intimate showcases to larger-scale events, we’re committed to building opportunities for comedians, paying artists fairly, and making comedy accessible to the communities we serve.

At its core, Scarborough’s Got Jokes is about connection, strengthening the local arts ecosystem, boosting neighbourhood venues, and helping establish Scarborough as a destination for live entertainment. We believe comedy thrives when it’s rooted in community, and that’s exactly where we aim to be.

What We Do

Scarborough’s Got Jokes produces live comedy experiences that bring people together and spotlight local talent. From stand-up showcases and monthly open mics to themed comedy nights and special events, we create spaces where comedians can grow and audiences can laugh close to home.

We collaborate with local venues, small businesses, and community partners to build programming that feels accessible, welcoming, and rooted in Scarborough. Whether it’s an intimate show or a larger community event, our focus is on quality entertainment, fair opportunities for artists, and nights people actually remember.

Why Scarborough

Scarborough is full of talent, culture, and stories but too often, artists and audiences are expected to travel elsewhere to experience live comedy. We believe Scarborough deserves its own stages, its own spotlight, and its own thriving comedy scene.

By producing shows locally, we help keep creative energy in the community, support neighbourhood businesses, and make arts and culture more accessible to the people who live here.

Building in Scarborough isn’t a compromise, it’s the point.
