Scarborough Spots
Scarborough Spots is a popular Scarborough-based platform that began as a social media page in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. What started as a space to share community stories, humour, and local culture quickly grew into a widely followed hub celebrating Scarborough pride.
In 2023, Scarborough Spots expanded its vision by producing its first live comedy show for the community. The goal was simple: provide high-quality entertainment right here in Scarborough while supporting local businesses, artists, and the growing creative scene.
Since then, the platform has hosted some of the industry’s top comedians, including Andrew Phung, Darrin Rose, Nick Reynoldson, Sterling Scott, Crystal Ferrier, and many others. Through these shows, Scarborough Spots has quickly built a strong reputation for producing some of the most exciting and well-loved comedy events in the city.
Jesse Asido is the founder of Scarborough Spots and one of the key forces behind the growth of Scarborough’s Got Jokes. What began as a social media platform celebrating Scarborough culture has grown into a vibrant community brand that highlights local stories, humour, and pride in the neighbourhood.
Through Scarborough Spots, Jesse helped build a platform that connects people to the community while supporting local businesses, artists, and creatives. His vision of bringing people together through culture and entertainment led to the creation of Scarborough’s Got Jokes, expanding the brand into live events that showcase top-tier comedy right here in Scarborough.
As the platform continues to grow, Jesse remains focused on strengthening community connections and creating opportunities that celebrate the energy, talent, and identity of Scarborough.

Working alongside community leaders Jamaal Magloire and Jesse Asido, Janice plays a key role in building a platform that celebrates local talent and brings people together through live comedy.
